Artax Equine: From track to trust

Retraining high horses for the evolving rider with grit, precision, and a forward-looking mindset.

We don’t just train horses — we choose them wisely

We select for brains over brawn

Our acquisition philosophy is simple: we look for horses with brains, not just brawn. We seek out horses with the awareness, confidence, and mental agility to adjust to challenges as they arise. They think forward, work with the rider, and become truly trusted partners.

These are the horses that thrive in our program — and become the partners that riders trust.

Trained where it counts

Built in the bush

Our horses spend extensive time in the rugged Snowy Mountains. Ridden by expert bushmen and women, they’re conditioned through long days navigating rivers, creeks, bogs, steep climbs, descents, and rough ground — building not just muscle, but incredible mental grit and resilience.

This unique foundation is layered with traditional groundwork, arena schooling, and open country work to produce adaptable, confident athletes.

Meet Cennassai

Once a slow sprinter (yes, he lost a lot), Cennasai now powers through 1.0m combinations with rhythm and confidence. Follow his journey from the bush to the show ring — and see what’s possible when training meets trust.
